Tim ran for the storied University of Colorado in both track and Cross Country helping them to a 2nd place national finish his senior year. After graduation Tim taught IB Psychology and coached high school runners in the United States, Honduras, and Dubai.

Since moving back to the United States and co-authoring Running the Edge and co-founding Run The Edge, Tim has taken up an interest in Ultra Marathoning.  His first Ultra was a 100 mile race in Ohio which gave him the bug. He continues to run at least one Ultra each year.

Tim’s background in Psychology and study of human behavior have influenced the way Run The Edge designs its virtual challenges full of both internal and external motivation and incentives.
