Un-Canceled Project Week 1: Gratitude Un-Canceled

Un-Canceled Project Week 1: Gratitude Un-Canceled - Virtual Fitness Challenge Blog | Run The Edge

Welcome to Week 1 of The Un-Canceled Project! If you haven’t heard of us before, we are Run The Edge, the world's leaders in virtual fitness challenges! The Un-Canceled Project (aka UP!) is our way of making up for all of the races, meet-ups, and other events that revolve around walking and running in a big group. We are offering this FREE virtual race series to anyone who wants to participate. Maybe your fitness plans for the season have been thrown off due to the COVID-19 outbreak, maybe you were thinking about registering for a race that has now been canceled or postponed, or maybe you just want to challenge yourself to something new, UP! is just for you! One of the aims of the Un-Canceled Project is to highlight and celebrate the aspects of humanity that cannot be snuffed out in crisis. This week's amazing human quality is Gratitude. When we are feeling stressed, overwhelmed, and uncertain, it can be all too easy to fixate on what we’re lacking. We are so focused on what we don’t have, what we “need” in order to feel secure, that we can overlook what is right in front of us. This week, instead of orienting ourselves on the deficiencies in our lives, though they may be significant, let's try to take account of what we do have. According to scientific studies, people who feel and express gratitude regularly exhibit more resilience in times of adversity, and can come out of a negative experience even stronger and more positive than they were before.

Are you grateful for a warm home? A family and friends who care enough to check in with us? A beloved pet? Maybe some of us are fortunate enough to work from home. Instead of looking at the holes in our life right now, look to what we are grateful for.

We at Run The Edge are grateful for the incredible, driven, supportive community we see within our challenges as well as our amazing team of five employees. Thank YOU for being part of the Un-Canceled Project, and never let life cancel your gratitude.
