Welcome RTE’s New Marketing Guru, Hannah! – Run The Edge®

Welcome RTE’s New Marketing Guru, Hannah!

Welcome RTE’s New Marketing Guru, Hannah! - Virtual Fitness Challenge Blog | Run The Edge

There are some big social and content changes coming your way, thanks to our new social media and content marketing specialist, Hannah. We’ll still be as active as ever, with just some added pizazz! Hannah joined the team on April 4th, and we sat down to ask her some questions so we could all get to know her a little better together.

Let's start with the basics. Where did you grow up/where are you from?

I was born and raised in Brookfield, a small town in Connecticut. I lived in the same house for 18 years and only left when I went to college!

What is one funny story from your childhood your family will never let you forget?

This is less of a “story” and more of a quirky thing I used to do that my parents still think is funny: when I used to get angry, I used to stomp to the end of the hall, put myself in a “time out” for a few minutes, then turn around and come back and be a whole new person, like I was never angry at all.

What do you think of garden gnomes?

I admire their stability, but can’t relate to ever wanting to stay in one place for that long.

Can you tell us a little bit about your career background and what brought you to want to work for Run The Edge?

My background is in all-things-marketing. I studied Strategic Communications and Psychology at the University of Denver, then dove into project management right after school. From there, I got into social media, content and event marketing, then email marketing. I knew I wanted to work for a mission-driven company, preferably in the outdoor/fitness world, so Run The Edge seemed like the perfect fit.

Ok, now the same question but in the non-work world! Can you tell us a bit about your favorite hobbies and what you enjoy doing most with your free time?

I love most things that have to do with being outside! In my free time, you can probably find me running, backcountry or downhill skiing, mountain or road biking, or frolicking in the mountains. I also love to read, and I’ve recently started making polymer clay earrings which has been a lot of fun! I figured I needed a hobby that didn’t involve exercising, so I picked that up.

What was the last gift you gave someone?

I think the last gift I gave was to my sister for her birthday. I gave her a book and a pair of earrings that I made!

Do you have any hidden talents we should be jealous of?

I can fall asleep just about anywhere, anytime – it’s my claim to fame. I’m not the best person to travel with because I’ll probably fall asleep within the first five minutes of leaving to head to our destination.

Do you have any pets? Can you tell us about them?

I have two dogs! I have one two-year-old border collie named Finn. He’s CRAZY, but he’s such a sweet boy and he loves backcountry skiing, running, and mountain biking with us. I also have a one-year-old mix named Greta. Finn and Greta are total opposites. Greta is more of an “old soul,” and you probably wouldn’t think she’s a puppy the first time you meet her. She also loves to ski, run, and bike, she just recharges at a slower pace after those activities.

What are you most excited about in your new role with Run The Edge?

I’m excited to be a part of a small, passionate team where I have the opportunity to wear many hats! I’m also very excited to build out the blog and update some of the website content.

Be honest, do you think there should be pineapple on pizza?

I can’t say I’ve ever had it. I don’t think I would go out of my way to add it, but I’m open to trying anything and can’t knock it ‘till I try it. I just had hot sauce on pizza which I probably would’ve been against prior, and it was surprisingly good.

The most important question of all... What is your favorite color and why?

This is a tough one! It’s changed a lot throughout the years - first, it was yellow, then purple, then blue. I think at the moment, my favorite color is green. It’s very soothing, and there are so many pretty shades! According to Google, that means I am a “practical, down-to-earth person with a love of nature. You are stable and well balanced or are striving for balance.” I feel like that makes sense.

Big thanks to Hannah for letting us get to know her a bit more! We’re as excited to have her on the team as she is to be here; we were thrilled to find someone that aligns with our mission and values with the marketing background we needed. We can’t wait to see how she levels up our social media and content presence. Be sure to follow us on Instagram and Facebook to see any new updates!
